These pages contain an array of Listings from magazines other than the Radio Times. All are from dedicated listings magazines, listings published in newspapers can be found on the various newspaper and magazine cuttings pages.
It is worth noting that the UK listings for Doctor Who during it's original TV run (1963 to 1989) were only published in the Radio Times (and daily newspapers). At this time the only other major UK listings magazine was the TV Times. This magazine (and it's regional variations and namesakes) was published on behalf of the ITV companies and only carried listings for ITV (and later Channel 4). The Radio Times was the BBC equivalent of TV Times (or vice versa!).
The listings magazine market was deregulated in the early 1990's which led to a far larger number of magazines vying for a share of the market. TV Times and Radio Times now carry detailed listings for many UK, terrestrial, cable and digital, TV channels (no mean feat given the rapid expansion of non-terrestrial UK TV).
Other UK listings magazines carry full listings that vary in their accuracy and depth of coverage from title to title. A good example of this can be seen in the listings for the 1999 Doctor Who Night on BBC 2. Every UK listings magazine carried some form of coverage but this noticeably varies in quality between the high end of the market (Radio Times) and the lower end (we make no further comment on this, it should be fairly obvious from the listings!).
In addition to the specialist listings magazines many newspapers, particularly those in the middle and tabloid markets, also began at this time to provide 'free' weekly glossy listings magazines with their weekend issues.
As a consequence of the above, all of the UK listings on this page, that directly cover Doctor Who, are from the 1990's and later. In contrast non-UK listings come from a variety of eras.
You will find chronological listings and links to all available cuttings on each page in this section. Use the links above-left to view each page.
