7 episodes. (episode 1 exists as a PAL master videotape. Episodes 2 to 7 exist as b/w telerecordings and inferior quality domestic "off air" colour recordings.)

Season 8

The Mind of Evil
6 episodes. (all episodes exist only as b/w telerecordings. Some brief domestic NTSC "off air" colour clips exist from episode 6.)

Season 10

Planet of the Daleks
6 episodes. (Episode 3 exists only as a b/w telerecording. The rest of this story exists as original PAL master tapes.)

Season 11

Invasion of the Dinosaurs
6 episodes. (Episode 1, titled "Invasion", exists only as a b/w telerecording. The rest of this story exists as original PAL master tapes.)

 

Technical terms:

Telerecording: The term used to describe the transfer of videotape footage onto film. This was achieved by pointing a specially designed film camera (usually 16mm) at a flat television screen and recording the resulting playback image.

PAL: Colour broadcast standard used in the UK (and some other countries, e.g. Australia).

NTSC: Colour broadcast standard used in the USA and Canada.

 

Many episodes of early Doctor are now missing from the BBC archives.
