Doctor Who Season 1 (or Season 27 if you include the classic series) starred Christopher Eccleston as The Doctor and Billie Piper as his 'companion' Rose Tyler and was a 13 part series first broadcast on BBC ONE in the UK from March to June 2005.
Doctor Who returned in December 2005 to BBC ONE in an hour long Christmas special, starring David Tennant as The Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose and was followed by Season 2 (or Season 28...) in April 2006. A second Christmas special followed in (December 2006) with the third season, starring David Tennant and Freema Agyeman as new 'assistant' Martha Jones, debuting in late March 2007. A fourth series of Doctor Who was commissioned by the BBC in early 2007.

Torchwood, a 13-part 'spin-off' adult drama series aimed at a post-watershed audience aired on BBC THREE, and BBC TWO, in Summer 2006. It stars John Barrowman as Captain Jack from Doctor Who and was written by Doctor Who Executive Producer and writer Russell T Davies amongst others. Davies described the series as "a British sci-fi paranoid thriller"; the Doctor Who 2005 Christmas special and second series introduced the concept of Torchwood to audiences prior to it's debut later in the year. After a modestly successful debut a second series of Torchwood is set to return later in 2007.

Okay, we have in our possession all the various UK listings magazines (apart from TV and Satellite Week unfortunately) that cover the start of the new series. A number have full Doctor Who covers (including, of course, the Radio Times - see details below), all have articles and features on the new series. Again the most comprehensive is the Radio Times, with two collectible covers and a massive 16 pages dedicated to the series, with a full rundown of every episode by Russell T Davies, as well as interviews with Freema Agyeman and David Tennant - all this in addition to the most comprehensive listings and features.
Of the rest the roundup is as follows:

As mentioned above the final (and until now unknown) episode titles for the upcoming third series of Doctor Who are now in the public domain thanks to the Radio Times.
Some of you may consider these to be spoilers (so don't read the panel to the left) but just to confirm we've included them below in a 'spoiler box' as well as additional guest cast details and information that is DEFINITELY a potential massive spoiler on the identity of one of the characters in episodes 12 and 13 - so please beware!
SPOILERS - TO READ HIGHLIGHT BELOW:
The hitherto missing titles for episodes 3, 5 and 13 are:
Episode 3. Gridlock, written by Russell T Davies and guest starring Ardal O'Hanlon.
Episode 5. Evolution of the Daleks, written by Helen Raynor and guest starring Miranda Raison, Hugh Quarshie and Ryan Carnes.
Episode 13. Last of the Time Lords, written by Russell T Davies and guest starring John Simm, Tom Ellis and Nicola McAuliffe.
It is strongly rumoured (and at this point in time it is only a rumour) that John Simms character in episodes 12 and 13, Mr Saxon, is in fact The Master. All we can say is that Russell T Davies, in describing these episodes in the Radio Times has said, and we quote, "the Doctor faces his greatest enemy yet. Now I wonder who that could be..?" Note the title of the story is Last of the Time Lords, a clue to the identity of Mr Saxon, we wonder..

There's a bit of a flurry of activity going on now with the Third series imminent.
First of all we have previews of the covers of the Radio Times dated 31 March - 06 April, which, as you can see left sport two collectible covers (click the covers for larger versions). The magazine will be on sale across the UK on Tuesday the 27th of March so grab your copies as soon as you can.
The magazine includes a full 16 pages on the new series and includes interviews with David Tennant and Freema Agyeman, and exclusive information on the new monsters as well as a complete third series episode guide written by executive producer Russell T Davies.
In addition to the Radio Times most other listings magazines are set to include features on the series, some will doubtless also include covers.
Other than this the weekend saw a number of articles including many Sunday newspaper TV supplements covering the series, some sporting Doctor Who covers, whilst Monday saw a single piece of interest.
Coverage was as follows:

A note from our webmaster
As you may have noticed this site has not been updated since April - this is due to a number of bereavements in my very close family since February 2006 (including both of my parents) and is the unfortunate culmination of two very difficult years.
I cannot say when the next update to The Cuttings Archive will be as I will need some time to recover from this very upsetting and stressful period but I hope at some time in the future to return.
In the meantime thanks for your support and understanding.
Roger
P.S. Messages of support will be gratefully received at the usual e-mail address here or see the comment page.
