This site was originally created by Roger Anderson in July, 1998.
1990 was the year when it started to dawn on fans of Doctor Who that a new series might be rather slow in appearing, in fact 1996 saw the next television appearance of the programme in a one off TV Movie and it wsn't until 2003 that news came of an actual new series.
The cuttings listed on this page reflect this but also illustrate some more positive developments such as the increasing frequency of video releases and the start of satellite broadcasts of vintage episodes on the BSB satelite service.
Two adverts for what was the first UK non-terrestrial TV station to air old 'classic' Doctor Who episodes in the UK - the Galaxy channel on the now defunct BSB (British Satellite Broadcasting). They were both from the Radio Times. They were not articles, the small print labeled them as "Advertisement Features".
The BSB Doctor Who Weekend took place on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 September so these pages must come from either the Radio Times issue dated 22-28 September or the previous issue dated 15-21 September 1990.
