1991

Although 1991 was a very quiet year the BBC did show, for the first time, the untransmitted pilot episode from 1963. At the time this was deeemed untransmittable due to a number of technical problems and the story was re-mounted and shown as the first episode "An Unearthly Child". This episode was shown as part of a series of programmes shown to commemorate the BBC studios at Lime Grove, where it was filmed, which were closed in 1991.
