Despite the fact that this was the 35th Anniversary year the BBC were very quiet about Doctor Who, at least on terrestial TV. The celebrations were left to the BBC's new digital channel, BBC Choice, a channel that few, at this time, could receive.
Those lucky enough to have access to BBC Choice were offered a week of Doctor Who programming, all presented by Sylvester McCoy, the 7th Doctor.
The Radio Times covered this 'event' in it's listings and in a small article in the digital section of the magazine.
That was it we all thought but 1999 was, in fact, destined to bring a few suprises!
