Answers:

Q: What are novellas, how long are they?

A:Novellas are shorter than novels but not as short as a short story, essentially a novella is part-way between a short story and a novel! To put it more precisely, each Time Hunter Novella will be between 20,000 and 40,000 words in length.

Q: Why are Time Hunter Novellas being published?

A: When we lost the licence to publish original Doctor Who Novellas, we wanted to continue to produce a range of books which embodied everything we wanted to do with that range.  Time Hunter is a spin off from the Doctor Who range and the books are true to the ethos of Doctor Who while being a series in their own right.

Telos Publishing Ltd's aim with the Time Hunter Novellas is to publish original, imaginative, emotion-engaging, thought-provoking and entertaining adventures in space and time. We want readers to feel that they are really getting their money's worth from the Novellas!

Q: Who is writing them?

A: We are actively looking for all manner of authors to contribute to the range, several big name writers have been contacted as well as some others who might be a surprise. We cannot name names until contracts are finalised, but as the range develops we hope to attract more of this sort of writer.

Q: Are you accepting unsolicited submissions?

A: No. The series is coming to an end after the eleventh title, "Child of Time" by George Mann, so no further submissions are being accepted.

Q: How much do they cost?

A: The paperback editions retail for £7.99 each while there is a deluxe, signed and numbered collectors’ edition available for £25.

A subscription service is also available, and this should spread the cost more evenly. Please use the subscriptions link at the top right of this page for further details including credit card ordering.

Q: Are the Time Hunter Novellas available only as collectors editions or are there cheaper editions?

A:Yes, there are 'cheaper' editions, each novella in the range is available as a standard paperback and as a limited edition collectors' item.

Obviously the price of the 'standard' editions is lower than the 'collectors' editions. Please see the individual Time Hunter Novellas Ordering pages for further details of pricing and subscriptions - links are at the top left and right of this page (also see How much do they cost? above).

Q: Are the Novellas available elsewhere in the world?

A: Yes, a distribution deal with has been agreed for all Telos books for Canada, America and Australia. They should be easy to obtain wherever you are based.

The Novellas are also available by credit card direct from Telos. For further details of the latest prices please see the individual Novellas Ordering pages for further details of pricing and subscriptions - links are at the top left of this page.

Q: Do the Novellas fit into established Doctor Who continuity?

A: They are set in the Doctor Who universe and so will follow continuity as appropriate. However this is not a Doctor Who range of titles, despite the strong links, and we hope that readers will find themselves drawn further into the Time Hunter world as well as appreciating the occasional Doctor Who connections.

Q: Do the Novellas feature old monsters/adversaries?

A: Monsters and aliens are 'good' but the Doctor Who universe is a big place, and we are primarily publishing original stories featuring new characters and adversaries. However if an author feels a burning need to tell a story featuring an already existing Doctor Who character (other, of course, than elements owned by the BBC) we will consider it on it's merits.
